Acadia 1

Despite some rain on Saturday we headed to Acadia national park. Kerri found a good loop hike online.
Starting at Jordan pond with the bubble mountains in the distance.
We then walked up spring trail which got pretty steep pretty fast!
Excellent views though!
The second part of the trail was cairn to cairn along the rock face.

Looking over Jordan pond.

Heading up to the first summit.
At the summit of Penobscot mountain, 1194 ft, 360 meters.
It was moderately cold and windy at this summit.
We then descended into a valley before heading back up towards Sargent mountain.

More fog and wind and rain but you can just make out the summit in the distance!
Here we are!  Didn't spend too min time here with the biting wind!
Time to head back down!

Bar harbor

Our first night in bar harbor we had dinner at an awesome pub called Mckays, with great food and beer and a guy on guitar!

After our hiking day we enjoyed some shopping and more craft beer.
As well as dinner where they made an excellent salad no lettuce!
Some more views along the water. A very cute little town. Great trip to Maine!

Rockland

We had lunch in Rockland and then went over to owls head lighthouse. More beautiful views and a little trail along the coastline.

Walking along the woods from the light house to the beach.
Down on the beach looking towards town.
We then headed to Rockland jetty for another lighthouse.
This one is at the end of a 0.8 mile jetty.
Plenty of sailboats out today made for good pictures!
Time to head back in so we can finally head to bar harbor!

Freeport

Freeport is the home of LL bean. We also found a nice state park there after we wandered around the shopping for a bit.
Along wolf state park. Not too crowded and we got in at the Maine resident price due to our rental car.
Next stop Rockland another hour north or so!

Portland and Cape Elizabeth

I landed at Portland airport and enjoyed my first Maine beer in Maine while waiting for Kerri to land. Then we were off to old port!
Lovely view from our balcony at the Hyatt. I enjoyed pictures from there :)
First stop enjoying the sunshine at a seaside bar with plenty of good microbrews.
And another stop on the balcony. That night we enjoyed a great dinner, a drag show, and another pub with late night bad food. Excellent taste of Portland!
Woke up to a cloudy by pleasant morning for Friday.
Our first stop on our road trip up to bar harbor was cape Elizabeth for Portland head lighthouse.
Wonderful rocky coast of Maine. Which has 60+ lighthouses.

Plenty of pictures at the first lighthouse of 3 :)
Heading out we would then head north to Freeport. We took the more scenic coastal route to bar harbor. To be continued!
