Willamette

We drove from Seattle to willamette. After a stop in Portland for a sushi train, we headed for some vineyards. Excellent views at anne Amie.
Then to the wine makers studio where we shared a bottle of rose and enjoyed the sunshine.
We were staying in McMinnville and went to the very quaint downtown area. First stop was a rooftop bar with excellent views.
We went for dinner at a place called pura vida. Fantastic find in random small town Oregon with Costa Rican fusion!
The next morning brought rain but I managed to get a run in. Wonderful breakfast at our b&b. Lucked in, as they are closing after thanksgiving!

Oregon coast

From willamette we headed down the Oregon coast. We stopped at the umpqua lighthouse. Enjoyed the views and had a little drama trying to use the restroom. I had purchased from the gift shop and was told this entitled me to use of the restroom. However an overzealous volunteer docent almost tackled me as I tried to walk in, until I told her I had permission. Bizarre!

Continuing along the coast we stopped periodically for pictures. Overcast day but still breathtaking beaches.

Less rain as we headed south.

Enjoyed watching the clouds roll in and it. And we saw a whale far offshore but no shot at pictures.

Entertaining signage at one of our stops. Plenty to be warned about in Oregon!

Warming up as we go!

More blue sky as we got closer to California.
And beaches and flowers. Such a gorgeous drive.

And wind!

Just before entering California we came across the highest bridge in Oregon.

Just before the border. Blue sky and gorgeous vistas. Who knew we would soon drive literally into a cloud!  Great coast and wonderful drive!

Seattle

We wandered thru Seattle and over to the famous market. Saw lots of fresh fish and I got some flowers :). Next stop pike brewing co.

We had a great flight of beers in the pike pub museum. History of beer since the Sumerians!
Beer nachos and flowers :)
Next we headed to Seattle beer company before finally getting to sunset on the pier.
Stopped by a strange statue of some sort of crustacean....

And then time for sunset!

Gorgeous night in Seattle.

Plenty of sunset pictures :) no sign of the rain Seattle is famous for!
