Snowshoe 2

Last random snowshoe pictures.  Above when anne was still here and we were wandering the village.

My sunday ride down the lift, during the MTB race.  Plenty of bikes and riders coming back up!

Perfect afternoon to sit at the lake and read my book.

A few kids went on to the obstacle course.  too cold for me!

Last little walk around in the sun before heading back up to the top.

Up and away!  Wonderful time at snowshoe.  Looking forward to coming back soon!

Clay shooting

Sunday we had some shooting before Anne had to leave.  We had the course and the instructor to ourselves.

I managed to get a good 35% of the clays!  Including the one double I had!

Difficulties with keeping my cheek down, but got it eventually

Anne was more advanced :)

Wonderful morning.  Anne headed off to NoVA while I literally ran back to the village to get a nice 6k in :)

Shavers Lake

For saturday afternoon we headed down to shavers lake.  Wonderful lift ride and perfect weather.  We also saw the downhill mountain bikers practicing for sundays race.

And good beer at the bottom!

No worries for ice today.  Also a bit chilly to go in the water obstacle course...

Anne went for another ride on the lift and I walked the lake perimeter.  No bears seen :)

The boathouse across the way

There are also several side trails from the lake that take you back up to the summit.  I stuck to the lake this time around!

And then up the ballhooter lift to the top!.  Next stop, spa time!

Razr tour

Our first saturday event was the Razr 4 wheeler tour.  Helmeted and ready to go.  Anne drove mostly as she is much more accustomed to the off roading.  I was super happy to ride and video and photograph!

Some views along the way.

We stopped at the fire tower and got amazing views after a lot of stairs on the way up!

I did say a lot of stairs....

We stopped on another ridge and heard an interesting tale of drunk lawyers steeling a 2 seated vehicle and joy riding for hours and hours a few weeks ago...

Because of the joy riding and damaged vehicle, we had to go pick it up, so I had to drive the guides 4 seater for the rest of the way back!

Survived, muddy and happy!

Snowshoe 1

We arrived at Snowshoe friday afternoon.  After getting all my stuff in the room (same bag from the 3 week out west trip...I didn't have a chance to repack), we set out on the village.  It was a gorgeous evening.  Our condo building is below.

Enjoyed sunset from both the east and west sides of the mountains.  East below.  Hootenanny!

Shavers Lake and the summer lift.

and now off to the west.

I really liked this side :)

Even the window reflection!

Since our first bar didnt have any IPAs, we headed to foxfire grille for a better beer selection.  Fantastic evening, and ready to go for the fun packed day ahead!
