Queenstown Half

Despite a later evening, it wasn't too hard to wake up early for the race.  Beautiful morning as I walked to the shuttle bus.  Nick was doing the 10K, so he could bike to his start.

Plenty of people at the start.  Much nicer day that 2 years ago when it was raining and we were hiding in the trees! Finished the race and was happy to have Nick at the finish line with a beer waiting!

Relaxing in the sunshine.

Nick had a superfast time of 49 minutes for his first ever 10K.  I had a tolerable 2:06 for my half.  A little slower than two years ago when I was in better NZ shape!  Too many flat runs back here in the States and on treadmills!

After we got home, we had a fantastic array of snacks on the terrace in the sunshine.  And also a nice nap!
