Back down to Welcome Flat Hut

Saturday morning was a bit rainy as we headed back down from Douglas rock. Now that we knew what to expect (and hadn't already walked 18k) the way down wasn't too bad.
Heading back over the bridge!
More water on the track with the rains.
The "trail" in the bush.
Back along the flats in only 2 hours. Much faster than the way up!
Clouds rolling along the river.
Back across the second bridge and at welcome flat hut!

The hut was rebuilt in 1986. A few months later it was destroyed by landslide and had to be relocated.
A visit to the hot pools!

Cheers!
