New Year's Eve

The strenuous walk was well worth it as we got to enjoy a wonderful sunset up at Douglas rock. 

We had the best New Years dinner I've ever had with chili con carne and a nice bottle of wine from our trip to Te Motu on waiheke last September. And candlelight! 

I drank from the bottle. Nick didn't mind the tin :)

We then set up a nice spot by the bridge to try and stay up til midnight. 

Joined by a few possum. They walked right up to us. I had to scream at one to get him away from the wine.....

Best New Year's ever! We went back inside around 11pm but did manage to stay up in bed until 12:02. We then passed out utterly exhausted from our trek!
