For the first half of our trip we planned out 7 days of various camping and huts. We loaded up the car and headed west.
Stop at the brand new cardrona distillery on the way. And got a decent holiday photo.
Next stop wanaka for a bit more supplies including beer and champagne for New Years!
We thought about heading up to Brewster hut from fantail falls but decided on a night of beach camping instead.

Looking along the beach for vehicle access to the spit. Turn out it has been washed away. So we just went for a walk along the Tasman sea.
And then a drive over to the town of Jackson bay. Time to find a decent spot to camp!
