1871 trail


Past the main park area, there is a longer trail along the coast.  http://www.bigislandhikes.com/1871-trail/   This has great views of the coast and also more ancient sites such as the building below.
  
Great beach views, and Keanae's Cliffs below, which apparently were written about by Mark Twain.
 
At Alahaka bay I ran into a couple who offered to take my picture.  Rare non-selfie!

The water was so blue and clear as it crashed onto the coast.
