While in Waimea I headed to Waipi'o valley for my first hike. This is the "most photographed spot in Hawai'i" I certainly took a lot of pictures!
After some shots at the lookout, I started down the very steep hill to get into the valley. There are cars (4WD) that take this road, but luckily I was quite early so before heavy traffic.
It is steep!
Kept taking pictures as I got closer to the valley. This valley was wiped out by a tsunami in the mid 1900s I believe, but there are still some families that live down here.
Made it down to the valley floor where there is a mud road out to the beach.
