Blue lakes aka green ponds

Our second day in Mount Cook we headed to the Tasman glacier valley.  The walk was much shorter and the weather better.  The hooker valley was completely socked in with rain and clouds.  We got a little blue sky, and even more back towards glentanner!

When the glacier was larger, these pools were glacier fed and therefore blue lakes.  But now they are rain water fed so green ponds!

And in this one, no water at all!

We walked around to 4 ponds in total before the "trail" seemed to turn into bush.
View from the path up above, and also the educational sign telling us about what different water color means!
