Wairau Lagoon 1

We drove from St. Arnaud to Blenheim through the Wairau valley.  We decided to head over to the pacific ocean and the Wairau lagoon.  Nice warm summer temperatures after time on the west coast and in the mountains!

The lagoon walk is the flattest walk in New Zealand!  Very well made through the marshes and lagoons.

Yet another different ecosystem/scenery in New Zealand.

Gorgeous blue skies and interesting clouds.  A much more arid climate that the rest of New Zealand (hence the good wine).  Something like 300 sunny days a year!

Low tide, heading along the lagoons towards the wreck of the waverly.
