Hooker Valley 3


Heading back out from our sheltered enclave, another picture of my favourite block of ice...
  
Luckily we were walking away from the (very brief) sprinkles and clouds, and back towards blue sky.

Stopped by a small tarn on the way back.
 
It was a lot windier crossing the bridges on the return.

Second look at Lake Mueller from a higher viewpoint.


Still no Aoraki visible!
 
Stopped at the alpine memorial just before the end of the walk.  This has the names of all those who have perished on the mountains.  Sobering reminder of the power of the Alps.
