Zermatt day 1

We arrived in Zermatt and my first hike was to my chalet! Up the hill I went and made it to my adorable accommodation just behind the English church.
Super cute room with a lovely terasse!
I then headed to the groups accommodation at hotel alpine and found bob and Jesse on the lounges outside.
Also a cute place!
As the town is Carless the transportation is walking, electric vehicle (glorified golf cart) or horse!
The normal views about town.

At our lunch/dinner meal spot, the offer American stuff or continental stuff for breakfast.
Local brews of course!
The brown cow pub in hotel post, the food was good but the service left something to be desired.
More wandering around town.

Bier vom fass literally means beer from barrels but tranlates to draught beer.
The rushing river.
The Matterhorn of course!

Fire station and police and everything else...
We walked over to the alpine express station and got an amazingly useful free map. My bible for the next 5 days.
Wonderful town and wonderful walk. Nice happy hour at night and fought to stay awake until 9 pm after a fairly sleepless overnight flight!
