Zermatt to Z'mutt

Sunday morning I of course woke up fairly early having fallen asleep by 930pm. Sunrise was a 645 but didn't make it over the mountain until closer to 745.
At 9 am we met at hotel alpine for our first hike. Advertised as a 13 mile hike it would turn out to be 16+ miles.

We got a nice send off by the alpine horn band.
And we headed up up up out of Zermatt.
And up.
And up some more.
Several wood carvings with informative signs along the way. This one dedicated to the history of the cable car.
And the alpine horn.
After 2 fairly strenuous miles we saw Z'mutt in the distance.
Cute little hamlet with some pubs and hotels. I'm assuming they use a helicopter or atv to bring luggage and supplies....
Heading off up up up again to schonbeilhutte!
